folk think in cubic feet and yards....
so what is a cubic yard anyway?

To make the translation to units of measurement that make sense
for actual humans, measure the area that you are covering in feet.
It's easiest if you turn it into approximate rectangles and circles -
remember, you are estimating here!

To get the area in square feet:

of a square or rectangle:
multiply length (in feet) x width (in feet)

of a circle:
multiply the radius x the radius x 3.2
(the radius is the measurement from the center to the
  outside of a circle)

To determine the amount of material needed to cover:
Divide the area that you are covering:
          - by 320 to cover at 1" depth
          - by 160 to cover at 2" depth
          - by 110 to cover at 3" depth

Or just sketch it out and bring it to us and
we'll figure it out for you!!!
